The first race of the PDRA racing season is in the books. Large car counts in many classes and cooler than normal temperatures presented a few obstacles that the PDRA team handled brilliantly. This was one of the smoothest events the PDRA has produced. As a fan, media person my observations are the event was run as smooth as possible. Thanks to the staff at Galot and PDRA for all of your hard work. Thank you racers for coming when called and being buckled in and ready to run when it was your turn in the water box.
I had planned to stream a fair amount on Wednesday but tricky weather conditions curtailed some of my action. Very high wind and a few sprinkles kept cars off the track for extended periods of time. One of my sponsors Southern Diamond Center was having an open house Wednesday afternoon and it was important for me to be there since my sponsor mate Jason Harris and the Party Time team were attending the service of Mr Party Time Harold Denton. After a great meal provided by Southern Diamond Company, a beautiful Citizens watch caught my eye because of the red white and blue colors After looking at the rest of their extensive inventory I used the PDRA discount being offered and now I’m the proud owner of a decent watch. Thank you Southern Diamond Company for a great time.
Thursday we Live streamed about 6.5 hours or so We witnessed many career best runs and saw several new cars and drivers make their first runs of the season. Thanks to PDRA and FLO for letting us present the pre event coverage. I can’t thank all of my sponsors enough for giving me the opportunity to bring all of you Free Livestreams
Friday qualifying saw the ProBoost record fall Derek Ward went 3.555 Friday evening under the lights at Galot Motorsports Park. We saw many 3.50’s from our boosted competitors. Jim Halsey in Pro Nitrous did run 3.60 as well
We worked our way through eliminations on Saturday, Jason Harris and Todd Tutterow paired up in Pro Boost class, we had two new contenders paired up in Pro Nitrous Brian Shrader and Fredy Scriba Scriba in a new Robert Hayes Motorsports built Camaro and Shrader in his Corvette that is tuned and maintained by Robert Hayes and team.
Todd Tutterow took the Pro Boost win on a hole shot over Jason Harris Brian Shrader took the win over Scriba in Pro Nitrous. Shrader just proved he was too tough to be taken down in Saturday night. Shrader had many new personnel best ETs and owned the starting line every run.
In 632 Pro We had a couple of rookies pair off in the finals Andy House driving the Meade Baldwin owned Camaro squared off against young gun Carson Perry driving a Jack Gaddy owned Camaro. Carson unfortunately turned the dreaded red light on trying to knock the tree down HOUSE was extremely emotional in the winners circle And very thankful for the support of Meade Baldwin, Southern Diamond Company and SP Tools of NC the car is maintained and prepared by The Harris family and Party Time Racing. The 632 class should provide some stout racing in 2024
Thanks again to everyone that came up and spoke about the World Series of ProMod deal I appreciate all of you watching and riding along I’ve got several new pieces of equipment I hope to put into operation in the next few weeks.
