Farmington Dragway and Roxboro Motorsports Park both opened their seasons last weekend. Farmington had over 250 entires for the season opener #EasterBash. Close racing was witnessed by many fans all day Saturday and into the late evening The highlight of Saturday was the MADD Dawg 4.50 class. 12 cars showed up to compete for the trophy. Number 1 qualifier Chad Tilley stayed consistent to the 4.50 dial in and picked up the win in the #AlbertRacingEngines powered #TntExpress. Congratulations to all of the winners Saturday
Sunday took us to Roxboro Motorsports Park for the third day of their EasterBash. Record car count and spectators blessed the facility for opening weekend. The highlight of the show Sunday was the 4.70 Outlaws. 17 cars showed up for the 8,000 to win event. One car withdrew giving us a 16 car shootout. Nick Cline in the 1937 Chevy Coupe worked his way through his side of the ladder to face off agains 4.70 legend Donnie Gibbs Jr. Cline ran 4.72 in the finals to clip a hard charging Gibbs who could only muster a 4.75.
Between the two race tracks just a little over a hundred miles apart we saw close to 500 cars. Drag Racing is Alive and Well in North Carolina.
This week we will be at Galot Motorsports Park for the PDRA Racing Season Opener. We hope to Live Stream testing some on Wednesday and Most of the Day on Thursday.
