Chris Rini and team are still on a high after an impressive performance two weeks ago at #DarlingtonDragway in the #CarolinaXtremeProModSeries presented by #NoonanRacingEngines. Picking up their second win of the season, Chris and the team won the prestigious #WoooStock event, which drew over 20 entries into the Pro Mod class.
Chris Rini Racing turned a late season charge at the end of the 2019 season into his first Carolina Xtreme Pro Mod Series Championship. The series has returned in 2020 with a six race schedule all taking place at Darlington Dragway. The #ATIPerformance backed 1969 Camaro has been on an incredible run in the Carolina Xtreme Pro Mod Series winning the final two events of 2019 and the first two events of 2020.
2018 was a season that tried the entire racing team with numerous parts failures, nitrous explosions, and even a small fire. Many teams would have given up. The Rini camp immersed themselves into improving their program. The car was updated at #JerryBickle Race cars and Nitrous guru Brandon Switzer was retained to assist with the rebuilding of the program. Chris’s longtime engine builder #BuckRacingEngines continued to work long hours, which resulted in increased horsepower.
2019 saw a great improvement in the program. By mid-season 2019 the team was a steady contender in the tough #ProNitrous field. During the #ShakeDown at #VMP the team showed everyone how competitive they had become, recording a string of impressive mid 3.6 second runs. As stated earlier, this was a major turning point for the team and did propel them to the 2019 Carolina Xtreme Pro Mod Series Championship.
As we start the 2020 season, the team has scored two wins with the #CXPM. Chirs did take the win over PDRA Pro Nitrous Champion Jim Halsey at WoooStock. The PDRA field has long been considered one of the toughest fields to make, or let alone pick up a win in. Chris and the team feel they are up to the challenge and hopefully can compete for a win or two and possibly make a championship run in 2020. Every team member knows how difficult it will be to make the same run in the PDRA class, but with a good approach and attention to detail they are hoping to rise to the occasion.
