Robby Keziah from Huntersville NC is set to return to Piedmont Dragway Thursday night for the last points race in the “Orignal Big Dog Series”. Keziah a former participant in the Big Dog and Renegade Series at Piedmont Dragway has reworked his beautiful 1963 TM RaceCars Split Window Corvette to the current Big Dog rules package.
Keziah is hoping his new combination will be a front runner in the series. Keziah knows it will be tough the to make field Thursday night in one of the most competitive classes running anywhere. It is rumored that legendary Radial tire racer Barry Mitchell will be assuming the crew chief duty’s. Keziah will be running a new Fulton Competition Race Engine with Nitrous. Keziah looks at the success the other Fulton Race Engine teams at Big Dog, (Brian Shrader and Travis Harvey) as a major accomplishment for the Fulton Race Engine brand and is confident his power plant will be just as good or better once some data is acquired.
This is a great step for everyone involved with the Big Dog Series at Piedmont Dragway, to have a racer the caliber of Robby Keziah build a car to run in the series. Big Dog was a huge draw back in the day. A rules restructure in late 2016 completely change the Big Dog Cars. However after a few years under the current format more and more teams are showing up to give the fans one of the GREATEST weeknight events anywhere in the WORLD. The new rules package is time and cost effective for the teams. Where else can you go and have qualifying start at 5:30 pm and have the race completed by 10, that’s 2 sessions of qualifying and 3 rounds of racing for the incredibly quick 8 car field.
On behalf of team #NCProModer and all of the fine folks at Piedmont Dragway welcome Robby Keziah back to Big Dog. Good luck and stay safe.
I can tell you I know of 3 other cars under construction for the 2020 Big Dog season. Its likely we will have 14-16 cars at every event trying to make the 8 car Shoot out field. WOW WOW. This gets me excited.
Make your plans to attend Thursday night at Piedmont Dragway. The weather is looking amazing with some cooler than normal temperatures expected. We need to fill the 3-second club up!!!
Gates open at 3 for spectators and Big Dog cars hit the track at 5:30 pm. They normally have open testing til 4:30pm. See you there!!!!
