Events number 26 & 27 did not disappoint. We started Thursday afternoon at Piedmont Dragway for the monthly Big Program. Extremely hot track conditions kept the speeds and et’s down til late into the evening. 9-10 cars showed to make the 8 car field. Travis Harvey went #1. We pushed back eliminations a few minutes to get the sun off the race track. After two rounds of racing Travis Harvey and Dale Brinsfield faced off in the finals. Both Nitrous powered. Dales Albert Powered Camero was slightly behind Harvey’s H&H Racing Corvette. Dales tuner Jason Harris has more runs at Piedmont in Big Dog trim than anyone. The finals were gonna be big. Travis and Dale put on a heck of a show with Travis Harvey taking the win with a 3.76 to Dale Brinsfield’s 3.78. Thanks for a great show guys! I missed the winners circle with Travis’s team. My apologies
I was asked to stream the Canada Head Up Series from Toronto Motorsports Park. I said I would try to get there late Friday for testing. We left Piedmont around 12:30 am and headed to the mountains of NC and WV to get up north. Drove about 325 miles and ran out of steam. Found a nice overlook that looked safe enough to catch a cat nap. Slept about 2 hours then the sun was up and it’s time to go. Arrived at Toronto around 2 pm. I went straight to work as most were astonished to see me there so early. After setting up my equipment and grabbing a shower in the extremely nice bathrooms there it’s time to work. Did a good 2 hour stream. I thought they would tnt into the evening but it was mostly street cars testing so we put everything up and found somewhere to stay. I got a good nights sleep Friday night
Saturday saw 3 rounds of Pro qualifying from the Canada Heads Up Group and some racing from a few of the other classes. We were done by 8 pm. These guys don’t believe in racing all night long. The leaders of the Series believe evenings are for food, fun and fellowship. This was a first for me doing a small tire race. I gotta tell you. I Like it a lot!! Yes cars could have went faster in the later evenings but the days were manageable not marathons.
Sunday brought eliminations at a pretty rapid pace with the event being done by 5-6 pm. Man I like this even better. Got loaded up said my good buys and headed back to the US. A quick visit to Duty Free to spend my Canadian money. Wait though a short line at the border then we’re are back in the US. I looked for a nice restaurant to stop at but all were closing because it was past 9 pm. Grabbed a few Monster Energy Sugar Free’s and we’re off. I ran into some rain earlier on, and considered stopping for the night. Pulled off at a texting parking lot and looked at the weather. I’m almost out of it now. Drove about 450 miles and ended up stopping at the scenic overlook again. Got to witness another beautiful sunrise. The stars were absolutely gorgeous late at night Sunday.
After another 2 hour nap it’s back at it about 300 miles to go. Found some coffee just up the road. Definitely wasn’t Tim Hortons. So it’s hammer down. Made a quick stop at MJ Printing and Graphics to order more decals and discuss another T shirt Idea. Home around 11:30 am. Monday morning. Another record run. Maybe I’m ready for the Cannonball Rally.
I’m home this weekend to re group and work on my remaining schedule. Lots of new opportunities are popping up for us.
Thanks to all of my sponsors for your support. I’m not afraid to put the work into this for it to grow.
See you soon. Thanks again for watching and reading this.
