Sorry for not updating last week. These past two weeks have flown bye. Two weeks ago we were at Maryland International Raceway with PDRA. What a very hot race weekend that was. High temperatures and clear skies kept everyone on their toes. Tricky track conditions during eliminations created more than its share of upsets. At the end of the day the Tommy Franklin Motorsports team and the P2 Contracting team each put two cars in the winners circle. Tommy Franklin Pro Nitrous and Amber Franklin in her 632 car. The Stedings, Kurt and Ethan put their team’s cars in the winners circle in Pro Boost and Pro Street. It was very fitting for a father daughter team and a father son team to get early Father’s Day presents at MIR in the winners circle. Congratulations to all of the class winners at PDRA. You definitely earned them on a very hot racing weekend
After a quick trip home Sunday after PDRA it was time to re-group for the North East Outlaw ProMod event at Empire Dragway Pulled out early Wednesday morning running on pure adrenaline. Very little sleep was had this week After a fairly smooth drive I arrive at Empire Dragway Wednesday evening around 8 pm. Over a 7 hundred mile trip. The weather at Empire Dragway was very hot for that region of the country. I didn’t think it was too bad due to the constant breeze. The North East group started out with a full 16 car field. But after testing and 3 rounds of qualifying we were down to 13 cars. Mike Decker Jr and his Deckers Salvage team charged their way though there side of the ladder to meet up with the hottest racer in Pro Mod in 2024 Derek Ward. The finals were run at dusk with the best weather and track conditions we had seen all weekend. Derek Ward stated he had a flinch and turned the dreaded red light on. Mike Decker in the left lane had a nice light and ran 3.66 to Derek’s 3.68 with a red light. Congratulations to the Deckers Salvage team for another win at Empire Dragway.
During the last few weeks we were invited to Toronto Motorsports Park for the Nitro Nationals. Thanks to the generosity of my coverage partner Santos Motorsports and www.bramptonpallet.com we are able to make this race. I had originally planned to drive home today and rent a car and drive back on Thursday. After surfing the internet I found a low buck discount air fair to fly out of Rochester Sunday and return Thursday morning. Thanks to Empire Dragway for allowing me to leave my rig there for few days. This flying deal saved 25 hours of driving.
I’m super excited to go to Canada and do a race. I’m really looking forward to celebrating 🇨🇦🇨🇦 day in Canada with all of my friends and followers. This should be a really fun event. Thanks again Jay Santos for making this trip possible.
That’s all I have time for today. Sitting in the airport waiting on my ride home. I would be where am today with out my team of partners Thank each and everyone of you
