WOW, that’s how I need to describe my trip to the World Series of Pro Mod by Drag Illustrated at Baindimere Speedway in Morrison Colorado. I was treated like a King and given the opportunity to Live Feed the Biggest Pro Mod Race ever.
After getting the OK to live feed the event I made a decision to put my camera down and concentrate my efforts to showcase the event on my live feed’ that’s what I do BEST. Everyone knows I am a “Social Media” photographer and while sitting in the media center looking at the work of my peers at the event this was an easy decision to make, I still took a few shots because I enjoy doing it.
We were given a few rules to live feed by which included not standing very close to the starting line. I spent some time scoping out some other viewing options and found a great place in the grandstands. It is so hard to live feed quarter mile racing from the starting line, Everyone loved the angle and view we had.
The media people were treated like royalty and all of the racers and crews were very open and available to our needs. This is something I continually struggle with, not being pushy or intrusive to the teams and drivers. I’ll call it a good trait but sometimes it keeps me from getting the best interview or shot. I’m still in a relationship building mode with many of these racers.
I do have a fantastic relationship with Jeremy Ray driver of the #CaroliniaKingPin. He was gracious enough to place my decals on his car. I’m forever grateful to ride along with him on his quest to make a name for himself in the Legal Pro Mod racing world.
Lots of great cars and dragster were in attendance to support the show. Congratulations to all of the winners.
Once again thanks to Wes Buck, Nate Van Wagen and the entire #DI team and the Bandimere Speedway staff for so much hospitality and access.
Thanks to all of the 27 Pro Mod competitors that showed up to chase the 100,000 dollars that was on the line for the winner.
Carl Stevens Jr. driving the Jim Bell owned JB Performance car marched thru the field to claim the huge prize money that was on the line. I can’t forget to mention Carl Stevens Sr and my buddie Dan Ferguson that were a vital part on the team. Congratulations to everyone on the team. Job well done.
I could ramble on forever, but I’m still trying to process how blessed I was to attend this event. Thank you to all of my supporters’ you know who you are !!!!!!!
